I have not attempted to revert BIOS back to "RAID ON" because I don't want to risk it, and I don't think I need Intel RST for anything.Ĭonclusion: I finally achieved cloning a Dell Precision 3540 Micron 500 GB NVMe SSD, to a new WD 4TB SN850X NVMe SSD, but the Macrium Clone would not boot. But some software (Adobe) needs to be re-activated Finally it booted in to my cloned Windows 11. It automatically rebooted to Windows Recovery Options, I ran Run Windows Startup Repair without much hope.ĩ. Reboot again from Macrium Recovery USB, and run fix Windows Boot - but it failed again.Ĩ. and BSOD Kernel_Security_Check_Failure again.ħ. Booted from Macrium Recovery USB (BIOS has to stay as AHCI) and "Restored" from the backup image, verify ONĦ. Install blank new 4TB SSD in the NVMe slot.ĥ. Shutdown, remove origininal 500 GB SSD.Ĥ. Created a Macrium image of the original drive (all partitions) on another external USB drive.ģ. Reinstalled the original 500 GB SSD, booted, and reformatted the new 4TB to start again.Ģ. Partions showed as "healthy" but would not boot.ġ. Recovery Mode > Startup Repair, CMD > CHKDSK, etc, etc. Boot Macrium Recovery USB and repair Windows Boot issues (recreates BDC)Ĥ. System Configuration > SATA Operation > change "RAID On" to "AHCI"ģ. stop code "KERNEL_SECURITY_CHECK_FAILURE"ġ. RESULT: Blue Screen with "Your device ran into a problem. Shutdown, swap the 4TB NVMe in to the Dell and reboot. I selected "Copy Partitions" and "Expand to fill space". Macrium Reflect v8 clone 500 GB internal, to 4TB in external enclosure, Turned off Windows Defender, and Turned Off Device Encryption (Bitlocker)ģ. Make sure Windows 11 Pro all up to date, BIOS up to date, etc.Ģ.
